Donovaly - Šachtička
The educational path passes through the protected area of the Low Tatras National Park, specifically through the Starohorské Mountains. The village of Donovaly is the point of departure; the path is a part of a marked hiking trail. You can enjoy a panorama of the Prašivá Massif or remains of a remarkable technical monument - the Špaňodolinský Mining Watercourse made of wood and stone. This educational path is in winter accessable on cross-country ski or in summer on a mountain bike.
Banská Bystrica - Jakub
The path passes through the protected area of the Low Tatras National Park, specifically through the Starohorské Mountains. The path is accesible from the village of Jakub - the city part of Banská Bystrica, about 300 m from a transit bus station. Boards acquaint yourself with a such interesting information, that the locality is remarkable through the occurence of 14 rare species of the Orchidaceae, among them one of the biggest - Orchis purpurea.
The path passes through the protected area of the National Nature Monument Harmanecká Cave located in the Great Fatra Mountains. The point of departure is situated behind the village of Harmanec, on the main road Banská Bystrica - Martin; the serpentine educational path leads through a beautiful forest to the Harmanecká Cave. The cave is 2 500 m long and its large cathedrals with abundant occurence of white soft sinter offer wintering for 9 bat species.
Educational path of Joseph Dekret Matejovie
The path, which is 9,5 km long, passes through the beautiful area of Great Fatra National Park from Josef Dekret Matejovie Monument in the village of Dolný Jelenec through the picturesque villages of Horný Jelenec, Valentová, Rybô, Kohútová, underneath The Majerova Reef to Staré Hory. In 2011 a second branch of the path with the length of 12,5 was opened. It starts in the same place but passes through the Starohorské vrchy mountains to the village of Špania Dolina. The route is bidirectional and accessable also on a mountain bike.
